Devon Thompson was born November 12th to mother Beverly Thompson and the late Donald Thompson in the district of Prospect, Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. He attended Prospect Primary School. He then moved to St. Ann, where he attended Alexander High School. Devon always had a yearning and thirst for the Lord. It is while he was attending high school he gave his life to the Lord. He got baptized at Beulah Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
After graduating from high school Devon moved to Kingston where he attended Bibleway Apostolic, where he was ordained an Evangelist. In 1983 he migrated to Toronto, Canada where he continued his evangelical duties in the Bibleway ministries here in Toronto under the leadership of Bishop Dawson. He was an active member of the Youth Department and Superintendent for the Sunday School. Overtime, he resigned from his post as Sunday School Superintendent and moved on to worship with the late Pastor Elsie Thompson who was the pastor for Emmanuel Church of Jesus Christ, Apostolic. Pastor Thompson was a prominent member of the apostolic church community where he is engaged in evangelizing the city of Toronto.
He got married to Veneishia Peart. They moved to Cambridge, ON. Upon moving to Cambridge, the Thompsons attended True Gospel United Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Bishop W.R. Gentles. While under the leadership of Bishop Gentles, Elder Thompson at the time was asked to oversee the ministry of Emmanuel Church of Jesus Christ after the passing of Pastor Elsie Thompson in the year 2002.
In 2003 Pastor Thompson took over as pastor for Emmanuel church of Jesus Christ which at the time was located at 750 Oakdale road unit 52. Under the leadership of Pastor Thompson, Emmanuel has grown both spiritually and financially. Over the years there have been many that have given their lives to the Lord. He has performed many marriages and baby dedications.
Today, Pastor and Evangelist Thompson still reside in Cambridge, with their 3 children; Desiree, Shelby and Shiloh.
